MU scientists have achieved success at national and international levels. In addition to issuing a wide range of significant scientific publications, they regularly organize seminars and lectures on science and research conducted at MU.
The university was established in 1919 and it was founded as the second Czech university, in large part thanks to the endeavour of Czechoslovak president Tomáš G. Masaryk.
Masaryk University is comprised of nine faculties, two university institutes and approximately 200 departments.
